Why Sleep? Greece part 2

Goodmorning all! It’s eleven in Greece on this Friday morning and we are about to go to an olive garden and grape vineyard and then head to the airport in a few hours.  However I need to catch everyone up to speed on the past two days.

Wednesday morning we left at the ungodly hour of seven am to get on a ferry that took us to three beautiful islands in the Aegan Sea.  We spent the day shopping, eating, and swimming on the islands.  This was my absolute favorite day we spent in Greece.  The first island we went to was Hydros.  It was the best!  We jumped immediately into the crystal blue gulf.  It was salty enough that we floated very easily and the sun made the water glitter.  Perfect morning!  Then we eat two feet from the water and spent the remainder of our time exploring the island and shopping.  This island did not allow cars or bikes so it was very quaint.  The next island, Poros, we climbed to the top of the island’s clock tour and took beautiful pictures of the ocean.  The third island, Aegina, is famous for their pistachios that are grown on the island.  We had pistachio gelato and champagne to commemorate a sunny, cheerful, relaxing day.  THIS was how I pictured Greece and I cannot wait to come back and go to more of the resort isles of Santorini and  Mykonos!
Thurday, we went to Delphi, thought to be the center of the world, meaning where the gods and humans met.  People like Alexander the Great, Popes, and world leaders came to Delphi to ask the Oracles for advice and to interpret the future for them.  Today, the remains are hidden very very high on a mountain over looking one of the largest olive gardens in all of Greece. Incredible!  We came back to Athens, and a bunch of us went to the area known as Gazi, once again, to celebrate our final night in Greece!  We can sleep in the tomb, right? J
I can’t wait to get back to London to write about my final day in Greece and upload all of my pictures from Rome and Greece! I loved Greece and am so glad I have the opportunity to be surrounded by the beauty of the ancient world and of course, the beauty of the sea, I forgot how much I love the ocean!  I return to London, refreshed, rejuvenated, and ready to continue exploring the wonders that all of Europe has to offer!

Cheers,

Carson
